Why Me hosts a number of fun events designed to give families the opportunity to meet other parents and children in this shared experience but in light-hearted settings. The bonds of friendship forged between children as well as family members during these events are enduring and have proven to be valuable to family interaction and healing.
Egg Hunt
This event is typically held the weekend before Easter at Sherry’s House. The day includes snacks, pictures with the Easter bunny, crafts, games and an egg hunt for the children.
Why Me Baseball Adventure
This one-day fun-day features taking in a Worcester Bravehearts baseball game at Holy Cross’s Fitton Field. The day includes a BBQ and pre-game activities on-site prior to the first pitch.
Spree Day
Each year the 200 Sportsmen’s Club hosts a Why Me family spree day at its site in Webster. Volunteers are on hand to assist children with the day’s activities including archery, fishing, wiffle ball and more.
Halloween Costume Party
Hosted at the Greendale YMCA, our fun-filled costume party is an afternoon with DJ entertainment, dancing, games, arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course and a costume parade. It’s a howling good time for everyone.
Holiday Party
The Annual Holiday Party is our longest standing and largest family fun event. We invite families to meet and socialize during this festive holiday celebration, typically held at the Best Western Royal Trade Plaza in Marlborough. Attendees enjoy games, dancing, DJ entertainment, kazoo parade, crafts, teen activities, special character guest appearances, a lunch buffet, a performance by the Shepherd Hill show choir and professional family portraits that are free of charge. Santa and Mrs. Claus deliver presents, pose for pictures and meet with each child.
