100 Mile Ruck March Challenge
100 Mile Ruck March Challenge- Heather Forchilli
Who: Hi there! Heather Forchilli here! I am a Branch Manager by day and “athlete” the rest of the time. My 125lbs weight loss journey has lead me to becoming a Rugby Player for the Worcester Shamrocks, a 2021 Boston Marathoner, to running 30 miles for my 30th birthday and to signing up to complete this 100 mile Ruck (shout out to Greg for giving me this opportunity).
My mantra: I believed I could, so I did…and then some!
What: My goal is to raise $10,000 for Why Me & Sherry’s House and to complete this 100 mile Ruck challenge that is now less than 2 weeks away!
Why: Why Me is a Worcester Based non-profit organization created to help Central New England families cope with childhood cancer. Why Me is not affiliated with any national organization.
Why Me was started in 1985 by 13-year-old Sherry Shepherd during her four year battle with cancer. In the last months of her life, Sherry became determined to do something that would have a lasting value in the community to help children with cancer. With the help of her dad, she founded the non-profit organization WHY ME, which stands for Worcester Help for Youth, Memories Everlasting.
In other words because I aspire to be as brave as Sherry and support her dream to help as many families as possible.
When:
Day 1 7/21: Milk Room Brewing Co. – 100 Mile Ruck Party
Day 2 7/22: Stone Cow – 100 Mile Ruck Party
Day 3 7/23: Oakholm Brewery – 100 Mile Ruck Party

Athletes will carry everything they will need for this 4 day event on their backs, navigate the 100 mile course, cook their own meals, set up and break down their own camps each night, tend to their feet and bodies, all in an attempt to earn the coveted 100 Mile Ruck March Finisher Medal.
